Work began on 13th February 2012 and finished ahead of schedule 6 weeks later on 23rd March 2012. At which time all three contractors involved decided to make a donation to the local parish which then went towards their Flower in Bloom fund.
Not only was the Parish of Coven Heath over the moon with this, they were particularly eager to express how impressed the local residents had been with the way in which the works had been carried out. Mainly due to the minimal disruption they had experienced and the amount of up to date information they had received relating to the progress of works.
Particular thanks going to that of Foreman Joe Flyn, “who delivered an excellent job, going above and beyond expectations”. He was in contact with Fred Barrett, Chairman, on a daily basis providing him with and the community with any information they required. “A job well done!”

UPDATE ON A VERY GENEROUS DONATION - by The Workforce
The final phase of the work was completed with a minimum of disruption and a minimum of fuss. We now have a ' State of the Art Surface' between Junction 2 and Coven Island. A representative of The Work Force had visited Fred Barrett, Coven Heath C. A. Chairman, and promised to donate several hundred pounds to this community Association. This was due to a manner in which local residents had welcomed, and co-operated with the different Organisations IContractors involved, namely Amey, Tarmac, Chevron T.M. and J McCann.
A representative from each of the Contractors visited site and handed over £ 200 in cash. Another promised and have now sent a cheque for another £ 100, making it £ 300 in total. The committee have decided to use this money to provide plants, compost and any other item that is needed to support this year's Best Kept Village Campaign - BKV. Our most sincere thanks go to every Worker and Company that has contributed to this massively generous financial gift.
The project was expertly managed from the outset. The initial presentation at Brewood Parish Council was detailed, and very, very, thoroughly explained with an excellent supporting package of diagrams, photographs of key locations, time scales, etc. All of the potential inconvenient situations were described in detail. The liaison with the Local Community in Coven heath was excellent. Everything that could be done for people was done. Very little noisy work took place after 10pm and the removal and resurfacing 'train ' was amazing. This project was a credit to each and every person, and organisation involved, at whatever level.
