Chevron are pleased to announce a five year contract to provide Traffic Management services on the Highways Agency Area 9 Asset Support Contract (ASC).
EM Highway Services will be taking over from Amey, the current service provider in Area 9 MAC. This contract has been secured following EM Highway Services appointment under the new ASC contract, commencing on 1st July 2014.
Commenting on the contract award, Managing Director, Kim Yates, said: “We are delighted to be given the opportunity to further our existing collaborative relationship with EM Highways under the new Area 9 ASC. This award allows us to build upon the success we have had on the Area 9 Construction Management Framework and develop a permanent operating presence within the Area.”
The Area 9 contract will benefit from the continuation of the award winning BS11000 collaborative partnership success seen on the previous contract between EM Highways Services, Chevron Traffic Management and other key supply chain partners throughout the Area 3 MAC and continuing with the recently re- appointed Area 3 ASC. The BS11000 Collaborative Business Relationships approach by EM Highways Services is the first formal collaboration in highway maintenance that addresses end-to-end delivery including the client and supply chain. Through the integration of Chevron and other partners into this approach, significant cashable savings and efficiency improvements have been demonstrated in both Area 3 contracts and will inevitably continue in Area 9.
Highways Agency Area 9 covers major roads in much of Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Shropshire, as well as parts of Gloucestershire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. It also includes the seven metropolitan boroughs of Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, Dudley, Solihull, Coventry and the City of Birmingham. The roads covered by the contract are sections of the M50, M5, M6, M42, M40, A5, A38, A46, A49, A38 (M), M54 and M69.
