Congratulations to Gavin Dymond of Chevron Wales
Our employees are actively encouraged to report all unsafe acts and incidents allowing the management team to take appropriate action. To support this initiative, we introduced a reward scheme in 2011 endorsed by our Managing Director Kim Yates.
The process begins with an employee being selected for a monthly safety award, the prize of which has now been raised to £100 for 2015! Our General Manager, Andy Hicks and Group Health & Safety Manager, Christopher Rowley, along with our Directors then look at the details of each monthly award and decide on an overall winner for the year.
This award is in recognition of the high standards of safety that Gavin has demonstrated throughout the year; not least the actions taken by him during the advanced works for the Manchester Smart Motorways Scheme earlier in the year. During the year Gavin has continued to raise safety issues through the Observation Report process; in addition, on site audits his closures and management of safety, health, welfare and environmental issues are always of the highest standards.
Kim Yates commented “Could I take this opportunity to thank Gavin and everybody who has submitted Observation Reports in 2014. Unfortunately there can only be one winner; but we have had an impressive year and I am optimistic this will continue in 2015.”
