Chevron achieves ISO44001, the new international standard for collaborative working
Published on 16 Sep 2017

ISO44001 Collaborative Business Relationship Management is the first international standard for collaborative working and replaces the British Standard BS11000 which was introduced in 2010.

ISO44001 was published in March 2017 and companies have a 2-year period in which they must complete the transition from BS11000. Chevron has achieved this within 3 months of the new standard being published making us one of the first UK companies to achieve the transition.

Chevron’s work in recently completing the transition to ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and certification to ISO14001:2015 (Environmental Management System) helped us achieve this great result, as all standards are now adopting the High-Level Structure which makes it easier to integrate these management systems. This was also achieved because Collaboration is aligned well within our Business Strategy, helping us deliver value to our clients, supply chain and other partners.

Significant changes from BS11000 to ISO44001 include:

  • Further emphasis on value creation
  • Greater emphasis on collaborative competence and behaviours
  • The introduction of the High-Level Structure, allowing for greater integration between management standards

Tim Cockayne commented “Collaborative working has been in Chevron’s DNA since we started trading 20 years ago. We were the first TM Company to achieve the BS11000 standard and I’m delighted that we are again leading the way by being the first TM provider to gain the new ISO44001 standard”
