Our Site Safety product range is growing, and we are proud to bring yet another innovative product to the UK—this time, a high-performing pedestrian safety barrier: The Urban Barrier System, now available for rental across the UK.
The Urban Barrier System is a Swedish innovation that provides enhanced safety compared to traditional products. Its simple, compact design perfectly delineates pedestrian walkways around construction sites, utilities work, or site compounds.
The narrow footprint without the need to pin or counterweight ensures more space for pedestrians and eliminates the risk of trip hazards. The barrier’s weight is designed to withstand strong winds or vandalism, removing the need for regular checks and reinstatement.
Adaptable
The design easily accommodates uneven ground, allowing the system to adapt to variations in ground levels of up to 320mm.
The simple but clever coupling results in a quick and safe installation. With its free rotation, the coupling offers a generous range of motion of up to 210°, enabling the barriers to adapt to site needs without compromising safety. Additionally, access gates are readily available to complement the system.
The design allows the system to adapt to varying ground levels up to 320mm.
Containment height can be easily increased by 1.7m or 2.4m using mesh panels, making the Urban Barrier the safest solution for any project. This high degree of adaptability and flush inner face ensures a safe, tidy and rapid solution for any site.
Active travel
The Urban Barrier System supports Government plans to increase active travel in our towns and cities. This system ensures that pedestrians, joggers, cyclists, and wheelchair users can move freely and safely around any work site.
Tested to new EU Active Travel standards, the Urban Barrier is the ideal solution to support Active Travel England’s plans for 50% of trips in towns and cities to be walked, wheeled or cycled by 2030.
Designed with a narrow working width, no counterweights, and no trip hazards.
The system is specifically designed with a narrow working width, eliminating the need for counterweights and trip hazards, meaning maximum space for pedestrians and site workers. It comes in two barrier size options with interlocking connections and can be effortlessly extended in height up to 2.4m using optional mesh panels. The flush inner face provided by the mesh panels makes it particularly suitable for areas with high pedestrian activity.
Installing Urban Barriers is quick, simple and safe, with no manual handling required and no need to pin the barriers into the ground. The unique coupling allows barriers to be placed and connected easily in one seamless operation, eliminating the risk of trapped fingers or hands.
Constructed from tough steel and concrete ballast, the Urban Barrier is built for longevity and is resistant to vandalism and heavy winds. Once installed, it saves space and enhances site safety.
