Chevron expands into low-speed TM market with TMS acquisition

CHEVRON Traffic Management Ltd (Chevron) has announced its acquisition of Retford-based Traffic Management Services Ltd (TMS) for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 1982, TMS specialise in the low-speed and events sector, operating predominantly across the Midlands and the North East. The firm employs more than 100 staff across three depots in Retford, Leeds and Horncastle, Lincolnshire.

Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Thame, Chevron Traffic Management employs more than 500 people at ten regional depots across the UK. The company has annual sales of more than £70m.

Commenting on the deal, CEO of Chevron, Tim Cockayne, said: “This deal is an exciting step in the future development of Chevron and TMS, which will lead to new growth opportunities for both businesses in the future.”

“TMS has fast become one of the most respected firms in the low speed traffic management and events sector. It has a great team of people behind it and we’re looking forward to working with them to help strengthen their position as a leading firm in their sector.”

Lauren Barlow, General Manager of TMS, said: “in the high-speed sector, Chevron are a great match for TMS as it looks to enter the low-speed and events markets.

A404 Resurfacing

Could I say a big thank you to yourselves and to all your crews which were on site at the A404 Resurfacing scheme last night. I have spoken to the Tarmac site supervisor from the Chieveley depot this morning who was very appreciative of how helpful and how good it was to work with the crew that was on site.
